I finally acquired the last piece of gear required to do my own analog film and slide scans. With the addition of a Canon 100mm macro lens, I finally have everything I need to do the conversion. My equipment includes a CineStill variable temperature lamp, a negative holder, my mirrorless R7 and of course the 100mm L series macro lens. The best part is a photographer gets to experience the joy of shooting film, along with the convenience of having a true digital image to work with in Photoshop.

This one was from a negative that I captured in 2024 of a coffee shop in Victor that I am quite fond of.

This on is also a negative from the same shoot in Victor, of a patriotic old truck. I need to find a way to brighten this up a bit… but I’m happy with the color accuracy.

Fond memories of this one converted from a positive slide I captured three decades ago! One of my first professional shoots with my first auto focus camera 😀
I’m looking forward to shooting some new film with my Canon EOS-7, and my old Canon A-1, and also digging through thousands of old slides and negatives to bring some of my oldest work into the digital era!
