Eagles and Snow

Snow and storm clouds in the Pike National Forest of Colorado

This is the first time in years that we have had enough snow for snowshoeing, except of course the usual sloppy wet storms of March and April. Snowshoeing in the warm weather of spring is OK, but there’s nothing like the fluffy powder we experience in the high country during the coldest winter weather. I saw a nice herd of mule deer but they were on the run from something in dark light so I didn’t get a shot of them.

Speckles the bald eagle was putting on a good show though, from one of the most picturesque old trees in the canyon in good light so I think I  got a couple of nice ones! Anyway, not much to say about that right now, I need to get ready for another day of eagle photography and maybe even a shot of some wolves, if we are lucky!

  1. Looks like you are winging it.
(Good luck with the wolves – love them, but these days the farther away from people and more hidden they are, the safer they are. All lives matter: save the wolves as well as the deer, caribou, elk, moose…)
    As alway, beautiful pictures
