Had a good hike this morning… finally found the deer herd close enough to get a picture of, and they even stuck around for a couple of pictures! It was also nice to get out and hear the birds chirping and feel the warm spring sun on my face 🙂 Unfortunately my experience with the deer lasted only seconds but it was gratifying that my favorite one of the whole set turned out nicely.
Climbing the steep hillside to the top of the ridge seemed a little easier today but I felt more tired at the end of the trek than I did yesterday. Maybe that’s a sign that I should take the day off of hiking tomorrow! Maybe I’ll just take a cruise in the truck up to 11 mile. Hopefully since it will be May 1st the place will not be closed.
