Showcasing the Rocky Mountain Winter

Elk Herd on Snowy Mountain

I've received a few inquiries this holiday season about how to easily find winter pictures with scenes suitable for your annual Christmas card giving. So I've created a special gallery dedicated solely to the Rocky Mountain Winter.

Autumn on Ektar Film

I was happy to see my fall film pictures arrived in my Dropbox yesterday from Englewood Camera! I shot this batch on my recently acquired and tested Canon EOS Elan 7, and Kodak Ektar 100 film. I chose Ektar for it's' fine grain and brilliant color and contrast. Some say Ektar Color negative film rivals the amazing quality of Kodak Ektachrome slide film.

Thundering Hooves Now at Barnes and Noble

I am pleased to announce that my new wildlife novel, Thundering Hooves (Spirit of the West) is now available for purchase at Barnes and Noble, among other well known outlets!

Sprucing Up for the Holidays

It's been awhile since I have taken a good look at how my wall art gallery is presented, so I thought I'd do a little sprucing up for the holidays. Wall art makes for a great gift, but it's not the only gift my site offers. A beautiful image from my library can be ordered on a wide variety of gift items offered on the site. Click any image, such as this beautiful picture of the wild horses of the Colorado Sand Wash Basin to see all the products that can be ordered!

An S.W. Krull Imaging Personal Branding Session

Stream Crossing

I've been getting a lot of inquiries asking what an S.W. Krull Imaging Personal Branding Session would entail. So I thought I would put together this little post describing how a typical session is done.

A Sign of Hope

Mule Deer Herd

Summer is over and the mornings are getting colder. Frost and a cold wind on my favorite trail seem to be driving away the early morning tourists and there is a sign of hope. It seems that the deer are returning to their normal habit of drinking from the creek and watering hole at night, and making the climb over the mountain at dawn.

A Time to Adapt

Mule Deer Fawn

Ten years ago I was sipping my morning brew in my favorite coffee shop staring out at Pikes Peak, when I realized it was time to adapt. My photography business was centered around wedding photography and that genre had changed around me and I had failed to adapt. At the time I had recently moved to the mountains and was surrounded by abundant wildlife. Almost any morning I wished, I could take a short hike and would have the opportunity to photograph deer, elk, bear. fox, coyote, and many other small and fascinating creatures.

A Scenic Journey Through Colorado’s Autumn Colors

Autumn in Colorado

I don't know what all I've been finding to do lately that's more important than getting out in the high country and hiking and capturing fall pictures. But today I finally awoke early and found the motivation to get in the Jeep and go look for pictures of autumn color.
