Capturing Colorado’s Stunning Sunsets

Rocky Mountain Sunset

The conditions looked right for another beautiful sunset over the Sangre de Cristo Mountain range of Colorado, so I loaded up my camera and headed out to the overlook. I arrived with about 20 minutes to wait, and decided it wasn't going to be that spectacular afterall. So I turned the wheel and headed further into the mountains, hoping to find some wildlife in good light.

The Cold Moon

Sunrise on the Sangre

The cold moon, the last full moon of the year was a good excuse to get out at sunrise yesterday. Some wispy clouds ultimately obscured my view, but it was a beautiful morning and I think I got some excellent images anyway, plus a couple of unexpected bonus wildlife pictures.

December Newsletter

Young Black Bear

The plan was to write a monthly newsletter, and I think I actually did get a couple written before the whole plan was derailed by events. Somehow through all the trauma, I managed to keep shooting, but recently noticed that none of those images had been uploaded to my fine art website, or to my stock agencies. No newsletters had been written and I had actually put little thought into my photography since the trees began changing colors in the high country in September. But now the skies have cleared over my life and it's time to get back to work!

Holiday Catch Up

Elk Silhouette

All I can think is it must have been a very busy year.  I seem to have a hard drive full of images all ready to put up for sale on my website! Well I finally got to it last night,  and I'm happy to announce a couple dozen new images ready for purchase just in time for the holiday season.

Ask AI

As a fun exercise,  I decided to ask Google AI a few questions about my business. I was surprised at the level of detail and the depth it went to as it "thought" about my accomplishments!

Bighorn Sheep Rut: A Nature Photographer’s Adventure

Bighorn Sheep

I was fortunate this weekend to get to take a photo adventure to Waterton Canyon to shoot the beginning of the Bighorn sheep rut, when the rams are down in the valley challenging each other for the right to breed with the herd of ewes.
