Every time any article about wolves is posted in Colorado, Wyoming, Idaho, or Montana, it is instantly flooded with anti wolf comments. The comments are always the same, mostly lies spread by a small number of anti predator ranching, hunting, and trapping fringe interests. I thought it high time for someone to dispell the myths and provide wolf advocates with counter arguments to the lies.

June Wildlife Photography Newsletter
May was a great month for wildlife photography in the Pikes Peak region. Many birds have returned to the Pikes Peak region, including mountain blue birds, many species of sparrow, hummingbirds, swallows and much more. We are still looking forward to the return of the snowy egret, which we have yet to spot this season.
The Birds are Back
The birds are back in town... at least they are at Manitou Lake. Our short adventure there yesterday yielded, blue heron, American white pelican, red-winged blackbirds, hummingbirds, an osprey, and one ground squirrel looking for a meal.
Why Boebert’s Wildlife Bill Could Lead to Gray Wolf Extinction
Lauren Boebert's extreme anti-wolf bill, deceptively named bill, "Pet and Livestock Protection Act" has unfortunately passed a full house vote. The bill actually has little to do with protecting pets and livestock, and is instead a thinly veiled attempt to destroy the wildly successful Endangered Species Act and launch a vicious attack on one of nature's most important apex animals.
The Amigos Return
For many of you who have been following my blog for many years, the Three Amigos are a familiar sight. But after a long cold winter, it always brings my heart joy to see them in the spring, happy, healthy, and still together after almost a decade of following them.
May Newsletter
Finally getting to my May newsletter, after a month of hard work on my new substack account. May has been an exciting month, with the end of the long Colorado winter, and the return of many species of birds to the high country rivers and lakes.
War on Wildlife: Upcoming Novel and Photography Insights
I wasn't sure if I was going to write the final installment of my historical fiction wildlife novels, following Spirit of the Wolf and Thundering Hooves. However, the wildlife situation in the nation has taken such a horrific turn under the Trump administration that I feel compelled to complete the series.
We Have Eaglets
WE HAVE EAGLETS - Mama eagle has remained in the nest long past the projected hatch date, so we assumed there were baby eagles to care for. But was it one, two, three? We didn't know until now, but I have confirmed there are at least two!
Ecological Catastrophe: The War on Wildlife
May finds us on the precipice of an unimaginable ecological catastrophe. Mining, ranching and hunting interests have aligned with the new administration in an all out blitz to strip away all reasonable environmental and species protections. The judiciary in it's zeal to oppose every trivial move Trump makes, is setting itself up to forfeit it's power on issues that actually matter.
