Spring 2026 Newsletter

It’s difficult to keep up with all the new developments in my world in 2026! In addition to all the excitement in the mountains from returning bird species and new four legged babies being born, I have managed to complete my historical fiction and romantic adventure trilogy with the publishing of my latest, The War On Wildlife. I have also recently launched a new online sports and leisure magazine, which I will be talking about in this post!

I’m delighted to announce that my newest in my wildlife romance series, The War On Wildlife has now been published and is available for purchase in eBook format on my Amazon Author Page! The paperback version has been approved by Amazon, and I should be receiving my proof copy today! So unless something has gone horribly wrong, I hope to be publishing the hard copy later today.

I have also added a number of new camera bodies this spring, including a couple of fun film and a trio of cute little digital cameras, that I will be using to write the new magazine I previously mentioned!

Of course these fun little gizmos won’t be replacing my main battle camera for serious sports and wildlife photography, but they will be fun additions for shooting street scenes and festivals.

Rocky Mountain Sports and Leisure

I have finally come up with a design for my Substack page that matches my plans for the future. When I first started this photography adventure over two decades ago, I covered a number of subjects, and eventually landed a position at an online rag called The Examiner, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Unfortunately, the publication was eventually bought out and gutted by a larger news organization, and my services were no longer needed 😦

So with my recent entry into the Substack world, I have finally found a way to carry on that work with my new magazine under it’s informal name of Rocky Mountain Sports & Leisure by Steven W. Krull and Associates! Of course I have yet to identify any associates, but it looks quite official on the banner I think 🙂 Under this umbrella I will carry on the photography and reporting I formerly did for the Examiner. This format will provide the framework and the freedom to return to a wider range of photography and writing that I so enjoyed when I first started two decades ago.

Two Decades of Digital Photography

Incidentally, speaking of two decades of work, I have captured those heady times in this intriguing and somewhat humerous account of those early years, filled with dozens of beautiful full color images in this full size 8 1/2 by 11 book of my memoirs and stories from that time!

This beautiful book can be purchased on Amazon for only $4.99 for the eBook and $26.95 for the paperback version!

We had a bout of bitter cold winter just last week, but now spring is in the air, and I am looking forward to the return of summer birds and wildlife, fun and exciting summer events, and creating content for my new magazine! Our bald eagle pair has returned to the nest and is now working diligently to care for and hatch their new eggs, soon to become this year’s brood of eaglets!

The burrowing owls have returned to the Rocky Mountain Arsenal, and I have heard rumors of osprey showing up near Fort Collins. We will be heading out to our local wildlife sanctuaries this weekend with the hope that osprey and great blue heron have returned here as well!
