Getting Hard to Keep Up!

With all the new life popping up all over the Rocky Mountains, it’s getting difficult to keep up with all the picture processing!

Red Fox Pups

One of the biggest attractions lately is our new red fox pups! Our resident mama fox had a litter of six pups this season, and they all appear to be happy and healthy. The only problem I’m having, is with my R7 banging away 15 frames per second, I’m piling up hundreds of cool images to process!

In the Canyon, our recent arrival has caught a trout for his family, seen here taking a few bites before delivering a meal to his mate sitting on eggs in the nest.

Bald Eagle in Flight

Our bald eagles are busy getting ready for new hatchlings as well! We missed the main event, but were still able to capture a few images of this magnificent raptor flying up and down the canyon looking for the best place to fish.

Apparently he found it, because we spotted him devouring part of a fish on our way back downstream. Actually we don’t know whether this is the male or female, because they trade off duties tending to the nest.

We seem to have a new arrival in the canyon. After all these years, this was the first wild turkey I’ve ever seen roaming the shoreline of the South Platte River.
