The months are flying by and spring is rapidly approaching! It seems like I just got done writing the last newsletter, but it’s already time for my March Edition!
We have a new presidential administration in office, and of course to go with it we have a new Secretary of Interior. The new secretary, Doug Burgum is interested in public input regarding western wild horses and burros. Naturally I’m advocating for the complete removal of livestock from federal lands, and the termination of the practice of welfare ranching leases on those lands. Mr. Burgum can be contacted using this page at the official Dept. of Interior site. I wrote a letter with links and statistics, but I am told a phone call is much more valuable. The Dept. of Interior can be phoned at (202) 208-3100.

Bald Eagle Mating Season

We have big developments at the bald eagle nest in Park County! Mama eagle is now remaining in the nest, a reliable indicator that she has once again produced eggs! In a month or two we hope to see some little heads poking out of the nest to take their first look at their big bright new world!
Return of Wildlife
Deer and elk have been returning to the high mountain parks in numbers not seen in years. Even though if feels like we’ve had a long rough winter here in Colorado, it appears that the ungulates are making a significant comeback!

A New Venture

I have added a new page to my website to announcing my services as a travel / vacation photographer. I actually had this idea a decade ago, but was apparently ahead of my time. The world has finally caught up and now hiring a vacation photographer is actually a thing. My specialties include, sports and recreation, leisure, portraiture and model portfolio development! If you are interested in any of these services, you can email me at steven.krull@swkrullimaging.com and I will get in contact with you as soon as I can climb down from the mountain!

Film Photography
My interest in film continues to grow, and I’m hoping to get out with my EOS-7 film camera, and my old Canon A-1 manual body to capture some images that I don’t usually involve myself with. This picture of a coffee shop in Victor is one of my favorite images that I acquired while testing out my recently acquired and renovated film bodies. If you look close, you can see the barista serving up hot java from the golden light within!
I’m excited to try out some new film stock, and will be reporting on those results! On deck are rolls of Fuji 200, Ilford Delta 400 monochrome, Kodak 400 Ultramax and Portra 400, Cinestill 400T and some Ilford HP5.

Photo Adventures

As always, we have plenty of photo adventures on tap, such as this visit to see the bighorn sheep of Waterton Canyon! Stay tuned to discover the best locations and methods for accessing difficult to reach places!
