Winter Sunrise

I was fortunate to make it to the trail head in time for a beautiful early winter sunrise. I was hoping to see some deer or elk, so I had my long lens attached as usual. About halfway up to the summit of Grouse Mountain, I sat down for a rest and a long cool drink to take in the scenery. It was so amazing that I decided to film a short segment of the beautiful scene with my phone.

Uncommon Beauty

Winter Sunrise

As I completed the video I held the camera for a few seconds in the direction of the sunrise. As I did that, noticed a small grove of barren aspen trees and decided the beauty of this scene warranted a few extra seconds for this amazing still image. The solitude of the cold mountain morning was so amazing that I decided to snap a few with the long lens as well.
