With Storm Warning behind me my thoughts have turned to writing a novel that I’ve been kicking around for a while. It was cold and windy this morning and I was confronted with the idea of going out to find the deer, or to sit down and write the first. chapter. As one might guess, the story is about a photographer… but that’s all I’m going to say about it for a while 🙂 I’ve already noticed that my usual succinct style of getting to the point as quickly as possible isn’t really going to work when writing a novel. I’ve had to add entire layers of thought to the writing, What is said, who said it, what is thought and who is thinking about it. My usual 500 words per chapter / post is going to have to balloon out to 5000 words words per chapter for a total of 30 to 50 thousand. It’s going to be quite an experience and I’m sure it is going to consume me for the next few months! For today though, I got the first chapter written and am well on the way to packaging up a book proposal to send out to the publishers! Wish me luck!
