I’m always glad when the Independence Day holiday is in the rear view mirror. Some of the summertime tourist furor dies down, and I can finally get into a warm weather routine. The animals too, seem to sense the change in pace and begin to settle in to some kind of predictable balance.

The birds seem happy about the pleasant weather, and this song sparrow was especially vocal on this morning.

This mountain bluebird found an excellent shelter for her nest in this abandoned blacksmith shop high on a mountaintop.

American white pelicans searched for the best place on the lake to forage for food, and I was fortunate to capture a pair of them coming in for a landing.

Blue herons slowly walk placid pools in search of fish

And chipmunks keep watch from whatever vantage point they can find.
I’m also happy to report that print sales are brisk at the artists co-op in Victor Colorado.

I have many prints for sale in my booth, aling with my photography books and series of historical fiction wildlife / romance novels.
I invite you all to come and visit the gallery this summer! We have a number of local artists showing a number of unique pieces, and I’m sure everyone will find something they like!
Also, please be sure to check my website for hundreds of additional prints and books for sale!
